Internet Marketing 101: Your Website As Your Face

Your website is your virtual storefront. People come in to your site and browse around much like they would in a store. For this reason, it is important to invest in your website.

Would you buy from a store that is run down, disorganized or has poor customer service? The same principals apply to a website. Your website should have a solid structure that attracts and keeps user’s on your page. This means your site should make sense from an architectural stand point. A user friendly navigational system through your website is a key component to creating a positive experience that will keep user’s coming back to your site.

A good example to think of when organizing the map of your website is a grocery store. A grocery store has isles with indications of what exactly you can find on that particular isle to help the customer find exactly what they are looking for without getting lost.

The apple store as a benchmark, the brick-and-mortar store is an experience like no other. The minimalistic design, the showcasing of technology, the blue shirts that can check you out at the spot, is truly a unique experience, I myself go several times a year to their Aventura Mall, FL store just for the heck of it. Now how about their website? Is the same thing!

Their website is a digital experience, they made an effort to recreate the same feeling on the www with a minimalistic design, showcase of technology and helpful forums where both apple employees and customers actively participate, in my humble opinion they succeeded.

Content, Content, Content

It’s no secret. CONTENT IS KING. What value does your website add to the online community? When creating content, it is important to put yourself in the shoes of the visitors. What are they looking for? What kind of questions are they asking? Perceiving the behaviors of your target audience is the first step to creating valuable content for your site. Furthermore, it is important to take risks and think outside the box. Take a look at your competitor’s websites.

If both your websites look similar, it is probably a good idea to start thinking of things that set you apart in a positive way. Internet Marketing 101, learn it boy.

Stay In The Loop

The internet is taking over. It is extremely important to be aware of what is going on in all aspects of internet marketing. Is your website being optimized correctly for search engines? Are you making meaningful social connections? Paying close attention to the ever-changing online atmosphere and gaining insight could prevent you from making marketing mistakes. The more informed you are, the more potential your website has to gain the authority it needs to generate worthy business.

Site architecture, quality content, and staying informed of the online environment is the foundation to a successful website.
